Commissioned Work Available on a Limited Basis
As a very young boy I spent many weeks in the summers with my grandfather. I credit him for my introduction to woodworking and appreciation for nature and the outdoors. He was a patient mentor, a willing teacher and profound craftsman. He never hesitated to take time to share with me his joy of woodworking.
Throughout my life path I always found time to keep in touch with my inherited passion; learning the craft, improving my skills and constantly challenging myself with every project both in terms of design and construction. My work reflects my values...quality, simplicity and most importantly, that form must always follow function. I create pieces with a purpose that incorporate expression, stimulate interest and hopefully become heirlooms.
I am proud to be a member and director of the Western North Carolina Woodworkers Association since 2018. I served as Treasurer for 5 years and have conducted several programs and workshop clinics for members. I am also a member of North Carolina Woodworker and Woodworkers Guild of America.
The natural, live edge walnut crotch top created the canvas for the design of this small studio desk. With the maple frame incorporating drawers and shelves, the piece is a functional yet artful form of expression.
Quality is never compromised. Builds are always of solid woods, never plywood or veneers. Only premium domestic and exotic hardwoods that have been properly dried, stored and sustainably harvested are used. This Greene & Greene inspired nightstand is constructed of quarter sawn white oak and features ambrosia maple doors. The ebony caps and splines, ebony drawer/door pulls and classic Greene & Greene cloud lifts all memorialize custom and quality. I never use inferior materials, joinery or finish.
Price is contingent upon many variables. Your vision, design complexity and material selections are just examples. This pair of island stool frames are constructed of African Padauk while the sculpted seats and back rest are quarter sawn Zebrawood.
